Damon Krukowski and Naomi Yang's music career started with modest goals but grew to incorporate one of the most influential bands of the 80s (Galaxie 500), a string of duo albums on Sub Pop records thoughout the 90s, collaborations with some of the most adventurous rock musicians playing today (Ghost, Michio Kurihara, nmperign, Wayne Rogers), and most recently, the formation of their own record label (20/20/20) and subsequent release of their two latest Damon & Naomi albums, "The Earth Is Blue" and "Within These Walls".
In addition to their work as musicians, Damon & Naomi are the founders of Exact Change, a publishing house dedicated to avant-garde literature and artists' writings. As individual artists, Damon writes (and teaches) poetry and music criticism, and Naomi is a visual artist (photography and painting) and graphic designer.
En su disco "The Earth is Blue" podéis encontrar dos interesantes versiones: "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" de George Harrison y "Araça Azul" de Caetano Veloso.

Y por otro lado tenemos a Dean Wareham, "líder de la banda Galaxie500"
en 1991 formó "Luna" con Jimy Chambers, bateria de Mercury Rev, además después también se incorporó Grasshopper (guitarrista de éstos últimos). La formación fue cambiando... mucho.

En el 99 entra en escena Britta! Al bajo de la formación. Con ella graban en el 2001 sexto disco (6!) llamado "Romantica", y mirad lo que hay en este disco:
Romantica was followed by the mini-LP Close Cover Before Striking, which features cover versions of songs by the Rolling Stones and Kraftwerk, a handful of new Luna songs, and two video clips.
Aunque me parece que es una caca y los mejores discos son los anteriores, como siempre. El best of del 2006 suena bien remasterizadito.

Curiosidad...
Before joining Luna as a bass player, Britta starred in the movie Satisfaction with Julia Roberts, Justine Bateman and Liam Neeson, and was the singing voice of 80s cartoon character, JEM.
Last year, Dean & Britta were commissioned by The Warhol Museum to write and perform songs to accompany 13 of Andy Warhol's Screen Tests projected on a large screen above the band while they play. .

The package contains a 12-page booklet with an essay on the project by Dean, still photographs from Warhol’s films, and two discs of music: the original 13 studio recordings created for the Screen Test DVD, plus an additional 8 remixes by Sonic Boom, Scott Hardkiss, My Robot Friend, and Anthony LaMarca. The songs are a blend of instrumentals, originals and covers (including Bob Dylan’s “I’ll Keep it With Mine.”)

Me he documentado de los Maispaces. Habrá mil erratas, pero lo importante es que los grupos os hagan tilín.
